Thanks for a fab week!

So ends another LYC Bear Week (although we do have a parade on Saturday – more on that later this week).

Want to say a massive thanks to everyone who came along and supported us. We literally could not do it without you. Literally. Our bear community may not be the biggest but it is certainly one of the friendliest.

Thanks to all the venues and sponsors who have been amazing once again. Especially to the NZAF for their continued support.

Congrats to Morro and all the contestants in Mr NZ Bear. It takes a lot of balls to go on stage. Morro – you’ll wow them in Melbourne.
And finally thanks to all of the Bear ‘cabal’ who have helped put on an amazing week without a hitch. All volunteers, all friends, still… I think 🙂

There will be more Furry Flashmobs through the year, more Urge parties, before we start thinking of Bear Week 2018. Wonder what the theme will be???

Closing BBQ :-(

Well that’s just about it. Hope everyone had a great time at Wet Fur and Tri-Nations yesterday!

Today we’ve got our closing BBQ at Shooters Saloon, 330 New North Rd, Kingsland, from 2pm.

Catering should be ready around 4pm for ticket holders, and there may be a few tickets available at the door too. If you don’t have a ticket, feel free to come along and enjoy a beer.

Wet Fur and Tri Nations

Congratulations Morro for being voted Mr NZ Bear 2017! He was the clear crowd favourite, and we know he’s going to have a great reception at Southern HiBearnation.
