Hi all. Not the announcement we wanted to make but with the change in the traffic light setting to Red we unfortunately have to postpone next week’s Bear New Zealand Week.
The health and well-being of our Bear whānau is our top priority.
We are working with all the venue operators at the moment. It’s a little bit of a complicated process.
There is a potential that some events will still take place in an altered form due to the nature of the event or the venue itself – the Thursday Comedy night, the Sunday brunch at Caluzzi and the Sunday cruise. We will contact all ticket holders of those events with options, including refunds.
However ticket sales to all events have now ended.
All the other events are postponed and refunds will be made.
Please be a bit patient with us, we have a few things to work through.
We are truly gutted about this but we will look to hold Bear Week later in the year.
Bear New Zealand acknowledges the tremendously difficult decision made today by the New Zealand AIDS Foundation to cancel this year’s Big Gay Out. The NZAF, through their Ending HIV campaign, have been long term supporters of Bear NZ Week, including next week’s edition, and they have our full support.
At this stage we are continuing with Bear NZ Week, but things move quickly, and should Omicron take hold, there will be significant changes to events, including postponements. Just a friendly reminder all ticket holders will need to show their vaccine pass plus photo ID.
Please look after yourself and each other. Get boosted and tested if you have any symptoms at all.
