Bear New Zealand Week is back!! Our 11th edition will be January 21-27, 2020 over the Auckland Anniversary Weekend.

We have our old favourites and some new ones too, including more day activities and our first ever cruise! We want to say thanks to our major sponsor Ending HIV for their continuing support of Bear NZ Week,, we truly appreciate it.

Bear Week 2020 leaps out of the starting gate with the most fun and unforgettable event of the week- the infamous Bear Drag Race down K’ Rd. Find your team, build your outfit, and sashay your way to fame and fortune! The event starts around 6pm, with the race around 7pm just in time for Urge Bear Divas.

The most infamous Urge party is back and promising to be as naughty as ever, with the famous cuddle room making a cumback. DJ James Leuii always gets the crowd dancing!
Our midweek party tends to be a sell-out, so we encourage people to get their tickets as soon as possible.
Dress code is strictly underwear. For men and those who identify as male.

Tiritiri Matangi Island Bird Sanctuary

Tiritiri Matangi Island is a stunning wildlife sanctuary for New Zealand’s native birds, and an important conservation project. Beyond native wildlife, the island is home to a 150-year-old lighthouse, a network of trail walks through lush coastal forest, plus pristine beaches and spectacular views.
Bring plenty of water, snacks and lunch, as there are no food outlets on the island.
Good walking shoes, sun block and a sun hat.
Swimming gear and a towel if you want to swim.
A light rain jacket, and warm layers. Temperatures can change quickly, regardless of the season.
Your lunch must be packed in a rodent-proof/ sealed container e.g. hard plastic. No open bags or boxes will be allowed on-board. Everything you bring must be sealed or zipped closed.

We are looking for candidates to come forward to take part in this charity night. The winner will go-ahead to represent New Zealand in the Mr Australasia Bear competition in Melbourne in June. If you are interested then contact us on our Facebook group.

Bush Walk to Kitekite Falls
Time: 10am

Take a day trip out to Auckland’s West Coast with Bears in the Bush. Take a leisurely walk on the trails at Piha and visit Kitekite falls. Bring a picnic lunch before heading back to Town for the evening!
10am DEPARTURE from Countdown Mt Eden (buy coffee lunch etc. prior to the 10am departure, not a show up and then run in quickly) Meet at trailhead approx. 11am (for those that do not need to meet at Countdown Mt. Eden)
Trainers are fine. Bring a packed lunch, water, and a light rain jacket. Towel and togs if you’re keen for a swim.

Kiwi hospitality in abundance on the stunning Hauraki Gulf; breathe in that fresh air. You might even spot a Dolphin or a Whale. You will certainly see the island volcanoes and the stunning coastline and the panorama of city lights.

The big final night! Tri-Nations has been bringing DJ talent from around the world to Auckland to celebrate the end of Bear New Zealand Week.
Bringing back the legend that is Colin Gaff from Sydney, as well as local heroes Donald Bennett and Mauri. We can guarantee a great night with your new and old friends.

Bear New Zealand’s traditional closing BBQ, a chance to wind down and experience some genuine Kiwi hospitality. Food is provided, please BYO beverages of choice. Let us know if you have any dietary requirements. Since this is held at a private residence, the address will be in your run pack if you’ve bought a ticket.
As this is a catered event, you must have a ticket to attend.
No dogs please.

Wet Fur
